Make them thorough, simple, fast and easy.Here are some tips to make your DOT physical fast and easy for both of us.
On the Left is a checklist for items you must have and the right column are recommendations to make your physical go faster, easier and avoid delays in the certification process.
1) Make sure you bring your drivers license with you - we will need to verify your identity and make a photo copy.
2) If you wear hearing aids make you you bring bring and wear them to your exam.
TIP - make sure your batteries are fresh
3) If you wear contact or glasses make sure you bring and wear them to your appointment.
TIP - if you wear contacts it is recommended that you bring glasses in addition.
4) If you have been granted an SPE (Special Physical Exemption) you MUST bring it to your appointment.

2) If you have a medical condition try to bring medical records or a letter from your treating physician regarding your condition
3) Try to make your appointment for when you are rested and refreshed - preferably not after you have driven countless miles on an overnighter.
4) If you take medications make sure you know what it is, who gave you the prescription and how much you take.
5) If you take medication make sure you take you medication when you are supposed to.
eg. taking blood pressure meds on time
6) Don't come in for a physical after you have just downed a few cups of coffee or red bull.
7) Make sure you are well hydrated.
8) Make sure you are not starving or stuffed with food.
